Acceptable Identification

Proof of your customer's identity

When applying for a mortgage with us we'll need to see proof of identify for each applicant. Your customer will need to provide us with one item from List A and one item from List B.

All documents need to be a true certified copy of the original and uploaded to the online intermediary service. These are required to fulfil statutory obligations and won't be used for any other purposes. If we can't verify your customer's identity, we won't be able to proceed with the application.

Although some items appear in both lists your customer can't use the same item to verify both their name and address, two separate items are required.

We can accept digital identification checks from Digidentity, NIVO, Onfido and Thirdfort – this applies to those documents listed under List A only.

If you use an alternative digital identification service, we may be able to consider adding the identification service to our panel. If you’d like to discuss this please get in touch with the team on 0345 601 2744.
