We want to make sure you're in the know about how we at The Cambridge use your customers' information and how we treat their data.
- How we use your customers personal information
- How we check they are who they say they are
- How others will use their personal information
Credit Reference Agencies
Credit Reference Agencies will add details of searches and applications for credit to their records. They share this information with lenders and guarantors of credit who may use it to assess an application for loans, banking, hire facilities or insurance which your customer or a member of their household may make in the future.
If your customer makes a joint application, an 'association' between them and the other applicants will be created at the credit reference agency which will link their financial records. This association will be considered in future applications by us and other lenders until a successful 'disassociation' is filed with the credit reference agencies.

Access to your information and the 'Right to be forgotten'
Under the Data Protection Act 1998 our customers have the right to access their personal information held by the Society. They also have the right to be forgotten, in certain circumstances; however, this will only apply where we no longer have a legitimate or regulatory reason for processing their data.
To obtain information or to request that data be forgotten your customers will need to complete and return the General Data Protection Form. Once complete they'll need to send this to our Data Protection Officer using the details below:
